Meet the Founder
Meet Kerry Gale founder of Floraco. Kerry is a mom of three, adventure seeker and an artist. Some of her favorite things include color, creating, storytelling + stepping outside of her comfort zone. Kerry believes that life is an art. It is richest sharing and celebrating the beautiful, messy, perfectly, imperfect details of everyday life with friends, preferably with a glass of prosecco and extra toasty cheese-its.
Here are some fun questions we asked Kerry one day:
What's your favorite time of day?
After I have tucked the kids in for the night and the house is quiet.
What's your biggest weakness?
Organization…but I am working on that.
What's your biggest strength?
When I put my mind to something I won't stop until I see it though.
What's the biggest learning experience you've had?
Your true friends won't necessarily be the ones you have known the longest. It is super easy and fun to love someone when when life is good. Unfortunately or fortunately I have learned, it is when times are tough, that you will figure out who is your real friends... and sometimes that will really surprise you. It might not seem it at the time, but losing those friendships will make room for the people that are supposed to be in your life.
What makes you angry?
When people aren't genuine and think you can't see through it.
What is one vice you wish you could give up?
I curse too much… but I don’t really want to give that up sooo...next question!
What are you most excited about these days?
Playing and creating without a purpose. Painting just to paint.
What is the best compliment you have received?
I'm a good friend.
When are you most inspired?
When I allow myself time to wander new places, take pictures and explore.
Sweet or Savory?
I like both...together!
What is the priciest thing you have ever splurged on?
My dining room table. It is made out of upcycled fishing boats from Bali.
What makes you smile the most?
Live music with friends.
What is one thing people don't know about you?
I am very shy and I get extremely nervous in large social situations. I would much prefer a small group or gathering.
What makes you feel the most like yourself?
After a good workout or hang with a good friend.
What are three things you cannot live without?
My camera, paper and pencil, and obviously my family.
Window or Aisle?
Window
What is your current TV character obsession?
Beth Dutton on Yellowstone.
What's the most adventurous thing you have ever done in your life?
Sky diving. Don't worry, I called my mom AFTER we landed safely.
How would you describe yourself in three words?
Creative, Funny, Engaging
What's your current favorite piece of clothing that you own?
My newest baseball hat.
What's the one clothing item everyone should own?
A good pair of cut off jean shorts.
What's inspiring you right now in life?
My kids artwork and their stories.
What's the best piece of advice you've ever received?
That when people are judging something about you, it's usually a reflection of how they feel about themselves.
What's your pet peeve?
When people do things half-assed. Drives me crazy.
What's something you notice about someone when you first meet them?
How they carry themself and their energy towards me.
What's your biggest regret?
I wish I would have advocated for myself in college when I was really struggling academically. It is embarrassing but I nearly failed out. Thankfully, I had amazing friends that really enjoyed hanging out with me… soooo they would do my homework as long as I promised to go out with them! That was clearly a no brainer! In all seriousness, I really truly believed I was not smart and my grades proved that to be true. It wasn’t until I was officially diagnosed with ADHD at the age of almost 40 that I realized my brain works differently than the "normal" brain. Neurodiversity is now something I celebrate and I am happy to say makes me, me!
What's heavily played on your playlist right now?
Currently, very into 90's alt-rock. Foo Fighters, STP, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Blink 182. Bush is playing right now! ha!

Eating out.

101 Essays that will Change your Life by Briana West
And when we say "read" I most definitely listened to the audio book.
What makes you feel accomplished?
When my kids push themself to do something outside of their comfort zone and when I see/hear them taking care of each other.
How do you start your day?
Snuggling in bed with the kids. We usually pop on a meditation and continue to cuddle until inevitably one child is fighting with another.

If you could switch lives with one person for the day who would it be?

Not everyone is meant to be in your life for the long haul.
Besides your phone or wallet, what are some must-have purse items?
Well...since I usually forget my wallet, that's usually not in there anyway. Soooooo let's go with a water bottle, a notebook and my fancy toolbox that is filled with all the necessities. If you know you know.
If you are not living in Fairfield, where would you be living?
Somewhere warm with lots of art and music and the beach is close by. Actually maybe an island in the Caribbean.
