Candle Care

Our best tips and tricks for the perfecting the Floraco candle experience.

Before The Burn.

Trim the wicks to  ¼" above the wax prior to the first burn. This will ensure that you are burning your candle efficiently. Trimming of the wick will also help avoid mushrooming, which can lead to an excessive amount of residue and soot on your candle vessel and around your home.

Your First Burn.

When lighting your candle for the first time, allow it to burn until the entire surface of wax has melted. This is usually for three to four hours at a time to create an even wax pool on the surface of the candle.  This even burn prevents tunneling and will ensure that you are maximizing the longevity of your candle.

Subsequent Burns.

Always trim wick after the candle has cooled down to ¼" and remove any wick trimmings or debris from the candles surface. Our 16 oz. candles have a burn time of 60-80 hours. They should only be burned for approximately three to four hours at a time to maintain longevity of the candle.

The Last Burn.

Once your candle only has about a half of an inch of wax left in the vessel, it is time to clean out the wax, and order your next Floraco candle.

Floraco candles are hand poured in small batches in Coastal Connecticut and held to stringent clean standards. Candles should enhance the experience in your home without sacrificing air quality.
